Natalie Virciglio Simpson and Shad Simpson have established an unparalleled reputation for not only providing some of the finest dance training available but also for devoting their time and energy to enriching the lives of each and every one of their students. In an area with an abundance of dance studios, NS Dance looks to set itself apart by offering superior training with a warm and inviting atmosphere where every student is made to feel welcome and important.

NS Dance is a highly competitive and demanding studio where we take great pride in all of our students, from those who strive to be a part of "NS Dance Company", our competition team, to the students who simply dance for the sheer joy it brings to their lives.

Natalie Virciglio SimpsonNatalie Virciglio Simpson
Began her dance training at just a year and a half with Birmingham Dance Theatre. As a student, she has competed at both the regional and national levels winning many first place honors and scholarships. She has also trained at Broadway Dance Center, STEPS, The Edge, Moro Landis, Tremaine and PAC. Disciplined in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Hip-Hop. She was captain of the John Carroll Cavalettes Dance Team and was a member of the Auburn University Tiger Pause Dance Team where she graduated with a degree in Marketing. She has worked with Auburn's mascot "Aubie", the University of Alabama's Cabaret Dance Team as well as the Hoover Buccanettes and Vestavia Hills Rockettes. Natalie was one of five picked to perform the opening number at the 1999 Ani Difranco Concert in Birmingham. She has also been so fortunate as to work with the Alabama's Junior Miss program as co choreographer in 2003 and 2004 in Montgomery, Alabama. As a teacher, Natalie has choreographed talent routines for students competing in Jefferson, Shelby and Montgomery County Junior Miss Programs. Her students and Choreography have held titles at both the regional and national levels. Natalie has also judged for Star Systems National Dance Competition and is currently a member of the Dance Masters of America organization.

Shad ShimpsonShad Simpson
Quite Literally, Shad has known dance all of his life having grown up in a dance studio. Shad began his dancing at the age of 2 under the direction of his mother, Beverly Simpson, owner of Beverly's Dance Unlimited. At the age of 9 Shad expanded his training to Birmingham Dance Theatre under the direction of Joni Nash Scofield. As a student he held the titles of Dance Masters Chapter 33 Junior Mister Dance and Mister Dance. Shad also received numerous awards at both the regional and national levels. After graduating high school he moved to Orlando to become part of the Magical World Of Disney. His credits include " Kids of the Kingdom", "Barbie's Magical World", Pleasure Island Dancer, "25th Anniversary Magical Memories Tour "and "Pocahontas Media Promotions "with Vanessa Williams. He was a featured dancer/singer for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and is a member of the Actors Equity Association. (AEA) His Industrial/Television credits include, IBM International, General Electric, Mary Kay, Kodak, the Discovery Awards and Star Search. He has taught for Dance Educators of America as well as Dance Masters of America. He has trained at Edge Performing Arts, Tremaine, and Broadway Dance Center. In the Summer of 2002 Shad was on faculty as a guest teacher at Broadway Dance Center in NYC and a few months later went on to be in the "Radio City Christmas Spectacular". As a teacher, Shad's students and choreography have received numerous awards on the regional and national levels. Shad has judged for Star Systems National Dance Competition and is currently a member of the Dance Masters of America organization.


Kristy Kelly

Kristy is a native of Birmingham, Alabama and she began dancing at the age of five. After graduating high school, Kristy was an instructor with the Universal Dance Association for four years. She attended The University of Alabama at Birmingham where she was a part of the Golden Girls Dance Team. Kristy graduated in 2009 with a degree in Education. In addition to teaching dance, she teaches fourth grade with the Jefferson County School System. As a dance instructor, Kristy has choreographed routines and conducted technique classes for various high school dance teams and cheer squads across Alabama and Tennessee. She has also had the opportunity to choreograph for several collegiate dance teams including the University of Alabama’s Crimson Cabaret, Mississippi State University, University of Alabama at Birmingham, and The University of Georgia. Kristy has choreographed talent routines for young ladies across Alabama participating in Outstanding Teen and Distinguished Young Women. Many of her group, duo/trio, and solo routines have earned various awards and recognition at competitions. Kristy enjoys working with her students and loves seeing them perform onstage.

Madison Ryan

Madison Ryan began dancing when she was four years old at A Touch of Class Performing Arts under the direction of Lori Rayborn. Growing up in the competition circuit, she has received awards including Miss dance of Louisiana, NYCDA Outstanding Dancer, and qualifying for finals at the Youth American Grand Prix and the American Ballet Competition. She has received and accepted scholarships to train with Orlando Ballet, the American Ballet Theatre, and Sarasota Ballet. Madison began her professional career when she was eighteen, joining the Alabama Ballet as a Corps de Ballet company member. She has since performed repertoire including Van Fleteren’s Romeo and Juliet, soloist roles in Don Quixote, and Cinderella, George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, just to name some of her favorites. Madison also teaches at the Alabama Ballet School.

Jordan Schwinabart

Jordan, a Maryland native, has trained with the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Boston Ballet, BalletMet Columbus, and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Ballet Performance from the University of Cincinnati. She has performed with Dayton Ballet, Louisville Ballet, and currently the Alabama Ballet, where she has had the pleasure of performing works by George Balanchine, Agnes de Mille, Jiří Kylián, and Roger Van Fleteren.

Rachel SingletaryRachel Singletary
A graduate of the University of Utah, holding a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Studies, cum laude, as well as a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Ballet, performance emphasis. Rachel grew up dancing in Columbus, Georgia, and attended summer training courses around the country. Rachel now dances professionally with the Alabama Ballet and has enjoyed dancing in many productions including Balanchine's The Nutcracker, and as the Spring Fairy in Cinderella. In her free time, Rachel loves teaching at NS Dance, and studios all over the Southeast!

Sydnii ToddSydnii Todd

Sydnii Todd is a 2012 graduate of Troy University with a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in dance. Sydnii is a native of Birmingham with 24 years of dance training in various dance genres. She has performed and competed throughout the country and internationally in China. She was a member of Troy Dance Repertory Ensemble where she served as vice president for three years, and was selected student representative for the theater and dance recruitment committee. During her time at Troy she was cast in numerous productions including her principal dance roles in Guys and Dolls and Smokey Joe's Café. In 2012 Sydnii competed as Miss Shelby County in the Miss Alabama pageant and was recognized as a top eleven finalist. She also has held the titles of Miss Troy University and Miss Magnolia. She was Jefferson County's Junior Miss in 2008 - and was selected a top 8 finalist and overall talent winner at Alabama's Junior Miss also winning preliminaries in both fitness and self-expression. Sydnii is currently a graduate student at the University of Alabama studying Sports Business Management along with her position as contemporary instructor and choreographer at NS.
